The first weekend of October is bringing plenty of events to Coral Springs.
Whether you’re looking for a new restaurant to try, a lively date night, or a moment to relax, there’s something for everyone.

Friday, Oct. 3
Grand opening: Generoso’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe & Espresso Bar (10:30 a.m.)
Local husband-and-wife team Tony and Lauren Generoso are opening an artisan restaurant in Heron Bay, which will feature specialties including focaccia paninis and handcrafted sweets. According to a recent Instagram post, a portion of the day’s proceeds will go to Parkland-based Make Our Schools Safe.
Baby lap-sit storytime at Northwest Regional Library (10:30-11 a.m.)
Children under 18 months old and their caregivers are invited to engage with songs, rhymes, and stories specifically selected for their developmental needs. Learn more and register here.

Need a laugh to start the weekend? Marjory Stoneman Douglas Drama’s first show of the year, “The Play That Goes Wrong,” an award-winning comedy that mixes Monty Python’s humor and Sherlock Holmes’ intrigue. Tickets can be purchased online, starting at $16.75.

Slow Steady Saturday with Coral Sprints Run Club (5:45 a.m.)
Local fitness enthusiasts are invited to join the growing group on a 2-, 4-, 5- or 10-mile jog through Cypress Park. Registration via SweatPals is required, and more information is available on Instagram and Facebook.
Tour Sandy Ridge Sanctuary with former mayor Roy Gold (9 a.m.)
Get an inside look at the city’s 38-acre haven for native species with the man who ensured its protection over three decades ago. Sensory Saturdays at Coral Springs Museum of Art (9-10 a.m.)

Coral Springs Oktoberfest on the City Hall Lawn (4-10 p.m.)
The city’s annual fall festival features German and Bavarian food and drinks, as well as live music, food trucks, local vendors and activities for both kids and adults. Plus, don’t miss out on watching (or even participating) in this year’s events:
