“Transitions,” a new art exhibition exploring moments of profound personal and collective change, is coming to the Coral Springs Museum of Art starting Friday, Oct. 17.

From Oct. 17 to Jan. 3, visitors will have the opportunity to view 30 visual art pieces from members of Broward County’s SOBRA Collective. As always, museum entry is free for all guests.

Among the featured artists is Arlet Gomez, whose painting “Bubble-Graphy of a Time” explores collective childhood experiences — both the fleeting freedoms and weighty consistencies, seeing transition as a continuum where fragility turns into resilience and hope.

Though Gomez is known for her bright colors and visual textures, this piece is part of her Other Views Project. The initiative aims to create “sensory art journeys,” through Braille-integrated paintings.

Unlike most works of fine art, visitors are invited to touch this piece.

Other featured artists include:

  • AJ Grossman, a painter and quilter known for her line work and connection to Jewish heritage.
  • Cheryl Maeder, an experimental photographer and videographer known for her conceptual work exploring the relationship between humans and nature.

Join artists and residents for the opening reception from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 17. RSVP for free on the Coral Springs Museum of Art events website here.
