Hurricane Melissa relief drive
In response to the devastating impacts of Hurricane Melissa in the Caribbean, the City of Coral Springs is collecting and delivering a variety of items, including tarps, solar-powered lights, work gloves, hygiene products for all ages and first aid kits. No clothing, linens or perishable goods will be accepted. Drop-off locations include the City Hall lobby (available weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) and the Public Safety Building Lobby (available anytime). The collection drive runs Nov. 1-15. Friday
Baby and Me: Stretches, Music and Movements (10:30 to 11 a.m.)
Caregivers and babies are invited to bond over basic stretches, music and easy yoga poses. This class is for non-walking babies under 18 months old. Registration via the library’s events website is required.
Coral Springs Mall Halloween Spooktacular (5 to 7 p.m.)
Center Court and participating stores throughout the mall will be handing out tasty treats during the evening to kick off the festivities for kids of all ages. Live activities, music and contests will also be featured. Learn more on Facebook.
Tulum Prime Halloween party and costume contest (7 to 10 p.m.)
Show off your most creative costumes and enjoy a night filled with spooky music, Latin flavors and handcrafted cocktails at Tulum Prime Tequila Lounge and Restaurant.
Low-key Halloween at Lefty’s (7 to 11 p.m.)
Join live 80s cover band Mischief at one of Coral Springs’ family restaurants for a costume contest, plus tasty meals and a large game room. Get more information on Facebook.
Plugged’n Halloween game night (7 to 11:30 p.m.)
Jeopardy, card games, team competitions, and crowd challenges are in store for creatives and entrepreneurs in South Florida at this costume party event. A bartender, live DJ, and live social media content videographer will also be there to bring out the best of the evening. 80s-themed Halloween party at Sharkey’s Bar and Grill (8 to 11:50 p.m.)

Hot-lo-ween at Mikki’s Speakeasy (8 to 11:30 p.m.)
Get ready for a night of wild vibes and non-stop music in the recently opened nightclub portion of a local American restaurant. General admission is $30 and VIP tables are $300 via Eventbrite.
Nightmare on Motion Street (10 p.m. to 4 a.m.)
Costumes are mandatory at this 21+ dance party event. Ladies enter free until 1 a.m. General admission tickets cost $23.18 and can be purchased via Eventbrite.
Saturday
Silent walk for peace (8 a.m.)
Join residents for a 20-minute meditative process aiming to strengthen inner peace. The walk begins at the Coral Springs International Peace Garden, next to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. Learn more about the group and RSVP on Meetup.
All-ages jiujitsu tournament (9 a.m.)

Coral Springs Garden Club (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Connect with people, plants and programs that provide inspiration, informative and valuable resources with the Coral Springs Garden Club’s monthly meeting at Northwest Regional Library. This session’s featured speaker is Taryn Palo, a master gardener and water ambassador who specializes in airplants but loves carnivorous and other mysterious plants.
Introduction to Creation Station (11 a.m. to noon)
Learn about all the opportunities Broward County libraries offer, including 3D printers, VR, audio-video production, electronics and robotics kits, arts and crafts, and equipment checkouts at this virtual event.
Women in Distress charity event at Sharkey’s (2 to 6 p.m.)
Enjoy appetizers, music, door prizes, a raffle and guest speaker Shari Lipson at the annual fundraising event for Broward County Women in Distress (WID), which serves domestic violence survivors in the region. The organization provides an estimated 50,000 emergency shelter nights per year and provides additional services such as a phone hotline and law enforcement consultation free of charge. 5k run and walk fundraiser for Living Word Christian Center (3 to 6 p.m.)

Jessica Kirson live comedy (7 p.m.)
Head to Coral Springs Center for the Arts for a high-energy performance full of ridiculous characters and self-deprecating vulnerability from the viral comic whose work also includes a feature-length documentary on women in stand-up comedy and contributions to the “Howard Stern Show.” Tickets range from $51.50 to $104.50 and are available on the Center’s website.
Sunday
K-pop Demon Hunters event (noon to 4 p.m.)

Guildhall Anime Game Lounge hosts lightsaber practice (3 to 6 p.m.)
Join The Saber Legion for an open practice designed for enthusiasts of all skill levels. Sessions include warmups and stretching, real sword skills and techniques classes, practice drills and sequences, combat games and open sparring in a friendly and supportive environment. Disappeared in America Day of Action (5 to 6 p.m.)
Joyful Resistance, the Coral Springs chapter of Indivisible, will participate in the event at Broward Transitional Center, protesting its use as an immigration detention facility. The vigil will include poetry, bookmark-making, and speeches from a pastor, a detention survivor, and Oliver Larkin, a candidate U.S. House of Representatives. Learn more on Mobilize. There will also be a virtual teach-in on Palestine from 7 to 8 p.m., with speakers including Jewish Voices for Peace.
