An annual tradition continues this Independence Day in Coral Springs as the city invites residents and visitors to celebrate at Mullins Park.

From 4 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, enjoy free live bands, nearly two dozen food trucks, games, fireworks and more.

Here’s what you need to know:

City selects new fireworks vendor

“We have a new fireworks vendor, so hopefully the comment section will be a little quiet that night, because for the last two years, trust me, we were with you as well,” city commissioner Joshua Simmons said during the June 17 meeting.

“[Former] Vice Mayor [Nancy] Metayer ... would be very happy that we would actually get a good firework show this year, because the last couple years she was not.”

The show will begin at 8:45 p.m., weather permitting.

The Coral Springs News reached out to city officials for more details on the new supplier, but has not heard back as of June 29.
