JELD-WEN warehouse in Coral Springs sold for $38 million as company faces losses
A large warehouse in Coral Springs’ industrial district long owned by window and door manufacturer JELD-WEN sold for $38 million on Dec. 22. The property went to a private equity firm for nearly double its appraised value.
SL8 Industrial Acquisition, the company named on the deed, is owned by Stonelake Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on real estate investing based in Dallas.
According to a JELD-WEN spokesperson, the company plans to lease the space back from its new owner, likely continuing to use the property as an export hub for customers in the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
The number of people employed at the facility — and their futures — is unclear. The sale of the Coral Springs warehouse is part of a larger wave of selloffs and layoffs at JELD-WEN, which reported a $368 million net operating loss in the third quarter of 2025.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company has faced “persistent market headwinds and price-cost pressures,” CEO William J. Christensen said in a November news release. The resulting “right-sizing” process set to slash 11% of the company’s staff, or approximately 850 positions, by the end of 2025.
Ealier this year, 298 JELD-WEN workers were laid off in Iowa, the Charlotte Observer reported, and 128 lost their jobs at a factory in Oregon, according to The Oregonian.
Volume was down in both North America and Europe, according to a shareholders report, and the company reported a loss from tariffs, which is being felt across the construction and manufacturing industry.
