Drivers can expect to see a new detour while trying to access Loxahatchee Road via Nob Hill Road.

The Nob Hill Road part of the intersection is expected to be closed from 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, until Friday, Nov. 21, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on Loxahatchee Road won’t be interrupted, but motorists trying to access the road will have to take a detour from Hillsboro Boulevard to University Drive.

Residents who live on Nob Hill will still be able to enter their communities.

It’s the latest closure amid the four-year, $33 million project to improve the 6.2-mile stretch of Loxahatchee Road from the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in the northwest corner of the county to State Road 7/U.S. Route 441 in Parkland.

“The project improvements consist of widening the road to accommodate bike lanes, creating a continuous sidewalk on the south side of the road, constructing roundabouts at Nob Hill Road, University Drive, and Parkside Drive, adding an additional eastbound left turn lane onto SR 7/US 441, milling and resurfacing the roadway, and upgrading signage and pavement markings,” according to the FDOT.

As of Sept. 1, the project was 58% completed and is anticipated to wrap up in early 2027.
