Clothing banks in Broward County are running low, and government officials are seeking gently used donations from residents to help clients at the Broward Addiction Recovery Center (BARC).

Items collected during this week’s drive will help residents in BARC’s programs across the county, including inpatient treatment and street outreach. These new items can help people regain a sense of self-worth and belonging in broader society.

Hoodies and sweaters are a top priority as temperatures drop, but donations can include a variety of items, including shorts, pants, T-shirts, sneakers and dresses in any size. Socks and underwear may be included but only if they are new.

Clothes can be dropped off at the main BARC location at 325 SW 28th St. in Fort Lauderdale.

To learn more about the initiative, call BARC’s front desk staff at 954-357-4880.
