To kick off Veterans Day festivities, the city of Coral Springs is set to host its annual Patriotic Community Concert on the City Hall lawn on Friday, Nov. 7, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Veterans are invited to participate in the Honor Walk, which the city’s website says will be an opportunity for residents to “recognize and celebrate our local heroes for their service and sacrifice.”

Service members and their families will also be able to access a VIP section with complimentary refreshments, commemorative lanyards and surprise gifts.

Palm Beach-based Coldplay cover band Life in Technicolor will open the show. Led by professional drummer John Favicchia, vocalist Brett Miller, lead guitarist Jeff Ralston, pianist Linda Cusumano and bassist Ed Groblewski, the band performs an authentic experience of Coldplay’s biggest hits.

Hotel California, an Eagles cover band, will headline the show.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to send a message of support to active-duty members of the military at the city’s letter-writing station.

What to bring: Lawn chairs, blankets and refillable water bottles to use at the city’s refill station. Dogs are permitted, but they must be leashed and curbed.

Where to park: The City Hall parking garage will be available at no cost to attendees.

Where to eat: According to the city’s website, food truck options will include Playa Bowls, The Greek Gyro Truck, Steve’s Wood Fired Pizza, Dimelo Papi Pinchos, That’s My Dog, Let’s Chill Ice Cream and The Lemon Squeeze.

Those who need special accommodation for this event are asked to call Special Events at 954-344-1111 or email events@coralsprings.gov at least five days prior to the event.
