A Publix shopper won big in a Nov. 3 drawing with a lottery ticket that turned out to be worth over $53,000.

The winning Fantasy 5 ticket was sold at the Publix Super Market at Midway Plaza at 5881 North University Dr. in Tamarac, according to Florida Lottery records.

The ticket was one of two to match all five numbers in the Nov. 3 evening drawing to win $53,489.41.

Normally, the prize is about $100,000, but the two winners split it when both matched the winning combination, which was 17-24-25-35-36, results show.

The other winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Lake Park.

Players have the option to choose their own digits or have the computer generate five numbers ranging from 1 to 36.

Both lucky player’s tickets in the Nov. 3 drawing were actually free. Fantasy 5 players can win free tickets by matching two out of five winning numbers in a previous drawing.

Fantasy 5 drawings happen twice a day.
