Water Safety Day returns to Coral Springs Aquatic Complex. Here are the details
Ready to break in your new swimsuit? The Coral Springs Aquatic Complex is set to host a day of music, prizes and water safety education to open up South Florida’s swimming season.
Previously marketed as “April Pools Day,” the free April 4 event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature hands-on life-saving skills demonstrations like CPR and water rescue methods. Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department and Coral Springs Police Department staff will be on-site with educational resources.
Families can also learn about Water SMART Broward, the county’s initiative promoting water safety and drowning prevention. Its hallmark swim class vouchers, worth $55 to $200 depending on the program chosen, aim to lower financial barriers so every child can learn to swim.
Florida led leads the nation with 119 child drownings in 2025, according to federal statistics. Officials say they hope to reduce those numbers through education.
