Vigil for Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen scheduled for Friday
Officials from across South Florida are organizing a candelight vigil for Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen after she was found dead in her home on Wednesday, April 1.
According to State Rep. Marie Woodson, the service will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3, at Coral Springs City Hall.
Visitors are asked to bring white candles for the service. Organizers also encourage wearing orange and green, to match Metayer Bowen’s favorite colors and those of her alma mater, FAMU.
The announcement came shortly after the vice mayor’s husband, Stephen Bowen, was officialy charged with premeditated murder and evidence tampering following his arrest in the case.
Free parking will be available in the City Hall Garage. Spaces are also available nearby at the city’s alternative lot and the Northwest Regional Library.
