All northbound lanes of the Sawgrass Expressway from Sample Road to University Drive were closed Tuesday afternoon due to a motor vehicle accident, according to the Coral Springs Police Department.

Local10 News reported that a road ranger was struck by a dark SUV and at least three individuals were transported to Broward Health North with non life-threatening-injuries.

Helicopter footage showed extensive debris across the roadway, likely from the SUV’s front bumper and hood.

The Coral Springs News reached out to police for more information and was awaiting a response.
