Longtime Coral Springs Mayor Vincent Boccard’s son Nicholas Addis died in a car crash early Saturday, April 11, deputies said.

Addis died following a head-on car crash at approximately 3:29 a.m. in the 3000 block of W. Sample Road in unincorporated North Broward, according to a news release from the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say Sult President, 49, was driving eastbound in a westbound lane over the Florida Turnpike overpass when he collided with Addis.

“Nicholas was so full of life,” Vincent Boccard wrote in an April 12 Facebook post. “He was the type of person that could bring a smile and laugh to your day. He was bright, witty, intelligent and looking so forward to his new life with his beautiful son Everson and to see the renewed energy in him and his quest to be a great dad as he spent time with his son.“

“We will keep the faith in God knowing that Nick is now safe in heaven and will be watching over us and may his soul have eternal peace,” he added in an April 14 facebook post.

Addis was pronounced deceased on scene, according to police. Paramedics transported President to a hospital for treatment for “possible life-threatening injuries.”

Members of the Coral Springs City Commission shared their condolences for former mayor Vincent Boccard and his wife, Addis’ parents, during the governing body’s April 14 meeting.

“We spent a lot of time together over our families,” Mayor Scott Brook said. “What has occurred, to me, is unfathomable.”

Addis’ funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 17, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, followed by a service from 5 to 9 p.m. at Kraeer Funeral Home.
