Missing Coral Springs teen found safe in Georgia after 2-week search, police say
The Coral Springs Police Department has announced that Skylee Merino, 15, was located Wednesday in a suburb outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
Merino was first reported missing by her family on April 21, following a meetup with an individual from Snapchat.
Coral Springs Police Department detectives located her using “numerous investigative resources,” according to a May 6 Facebook post.
“Skylee is unharmed and was recovered in good health,” the post states. “Her parents have been notified and will make arrangements to reunite with Skylee in Georgia.”
Officials thanked the Boca Raton Police Department, Broward Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Delray Beach Police Department, Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Orlando Police Department, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson Township Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their support during the over two-week search effort.
