Lottery ticket worth nearly $60,000 sold in Broward County. Here’s where

A stop at a Broward County gas station led to a nearly $60,000 windfall for a lottery player.

The winner hit the jackpot in the June 7 midday Fantasy 5 drawing, matching all five numbers to win a $56,606.31 top prize, Florida Lottery results show.

The ticket was sold at a Marathon gas station at 2300 Nob Hill Road in Sunrise, and the winning numbers were 8-12-18-21-30.

When buying the ticket, the player turned down the Quick Pick option that would choose randomized numbers and instead chose their own combination, beating the 1-in-376,992 odds of matching all five winning numbers.

Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
