Your guide to a fun-filled Coral Springs weekend of food, music and festivals
Looking to maximize your weekend plans? If so, this city’s got a lot in store. Coral Springs is gearing up for another Friday through Sunday loaded with recreation and relaxation.
Fall festivals and other outdoor activities continue. Plus, catch a twice-annual kids’ clothing sale, a workshop for aspiring novelists and other unique events.
Here’s a list of what to pencil into your Oct. 10-12 weekend schedule.
All weekend
Grab n’ Go activities at Northwest Regional Library, during library hours. Visit the local Broward County Public Library branch to pick up free seeds from the Broward Sierra Club and a Halloween craft.

Entre Dos Mundos, Coral Springs Museum of Art’s Hispanic Heritage Month exhibition, is on view this weekend, including sensory-friendly hours on Saturday morning. Learn more on their website here.
Parkridge Church Pumpkin Patch, continues through Oct. 30. It’s free to visit, with a variety of different pumpkin shapes, sizes and colors available for purchase. Proceeds benefit Parkridge Youth Ministry. Hours vary — check the church’s Instagram page for details.
Friday, Oct. 10
Baby lapsit storytime and play date (10:30-11:30 a.m.)
Caregivers and children under 18 months old are welcome to join neighbors at Northwest Regional Library for songs, rhymes and stories specifically selected for their developmental needs. Registration is required. Afterward, there is time for you and your child to meet new friends, promoting social, motor and literacy skills.
Chat with a Broward property appraiser (10:30 a.m.-noon)
Homeowners with questions about property valuations, taxes or how to apply for savings programs like the Homestead Exemption can visit with Broward County Property Appraiser’s Office staff at Northwest Regional Library Room 223. Learn more and register for a spot on the library’s website here.
Teen hangout in the Library Living Room (12:30-2 p.m.)
Middle and high school students have access to video games, cornhole, puzzles and more in the Northwest Regional LIbrary’s event space after school lets out early this Friday, with opportunities to work solo or hang out with friends. Learn more on the library events page here.
Latin dance group class and social (7:30-9 p.m.)
All skill levels are welcome at this weekly course. Tickets are $45 through Meetup.
Live music at Sharkey’s Bar and Grill (7:30 p.m.-midnight)

Saturday, Oct. 11
SOFLO Track Club Saturday Long Run (5:30-8:30 a.m.)
Join fellow recreational and competitive runners for a morning workout. Annual membership is $60, which includes water and Gatorade at weekly events, plus a T-shirt and swag bag for new members. Learn more on Facebook here.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month wellness event (11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.)
Soaring Eagle Beauty Studio is selling $8-10 tickets for an afternoon of low-cost resources, self-care and solidarity for those at risk of developing breast cancer, especially the uninsured and underinsured. Coral Springs Fire Safety Jamboree (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Meet firefighters and get hands-on with demonstrations from the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department at Coral Springs Mall. Plus, learn about how to keep yourself and your family safe around lithium-ion batteries, the theme of this year’s Fire Safety Week campaign. Somerset Academy Riverside Charter School Fall Festival (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)

Read to a therapy dog (1-2 p.m.)
Kids ages 5-12 are invited to read to Zoey the therapy dog at Northwest Regional Library to improve their confidence and reading skills. This program is first-come, first-served, with pre-registration available online.
Learn world building for any genre with a famous author (2-3 p.m.)
Leslye Penelope, who also writes as L. Penelope, shares how she creates rich fantasy worlds for her award-winning novels in this free online workshop. Registration with Broward County Public Library is required.
Live music at Sharkey’s Bar and Grill (8 p.m.-midnight)

Sunday, Oct. 12
Cypress Park open play tennis (8-10 a.m.)

Tamarac Community Farmers Market (9 a.m.-2 p.m.)
If you’re looking for local fresh produce, tea, honey, sauces, hummus, pickles, baked goods or other artisanal goods, Tamarac Veterans’ Park is the place to be . The market, hosted by the City of Tamarac, takes place weekly through the end of the year.
South County Regional Park bike ride and lunch (9:45-11:45 a.m.)
The 18-mile group ride will be a mix of park, trails, bike paths in South County Regional Park, with a variety of road, sidewalk and packed sand paths. Coconut Creek Subaru Day of Giving (1-4 p.m.)
Families who haven’t gotten their fill of fall festivals can end the weekend with trunk-or-treating, Italian ice, face painting, police and fire vehicle displays, plus meet-and-greets with adoptable dogs from Everglades Angels Dog Rescue.
