Get active and involved the first week of 2026 with these Coral Springs events
With the holidays over and 2026 finally here, the events schedule in Coral Springs is filling up again.
If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to be more active or social, there are several local events this week that will encourage you to do just that.
Here’s a list of some gatherings and meetups.
Tuesday, Jan. 6
MLK art and literary exhibit
Students’ winning artwork centered on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will be on display at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts from Jan. 6-28. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Toastmasters luncheon (noon to 1 p.m.)
The Outspoken Toastmasters are hosting a lunch at Wings Plus for $15 for those interested in growing their public speaking and communication skills. Participants aren’t required to speak but can still come to learn about the group and listen to others’ speeches. You can reserve your spot, but walk-ins are welcome.
Shut Up & Write! meet-up (7 to 8:30 p.m.)
The weekly meet-up of writers’ group Shut up & Write will convene at the Starbucks in Ramblewood Square (1217 N. University Dr.) for the first gathering of 2026. There will be a few minutes before and after the timed writing session to mingle with fellow writers of all ages and experience levels, but there’s no expectation to share what you’re working on.
Wednesday, Jan. 7
City Commission meeting (6:30 p.m.)
Anyone can sit in on the Coral Springs City Commission meetings, scheduled twice a month. If you can’t make it in-person to the commission chambers, you can always tune into the livestream online.

Those with green thumbs, or those hoping to develop theirs, are invited to the Garden Club of Coral Springs meeting at the Northwest Regional Library.
