Coral Springs and surrounding cities are leaning into arts and entertainment this weekend, ranging from Billboard-topping musical performaces to abstract art and more — including a special opportunity to see shelter dogs perform fun tricks at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.

Friday

Legendary R&B group at Coral Springs Center for the Arts (8 p.m.)

The Grammy-winning, multi-Platinum R&B group 112 is coming to Coral Springs with chart-topping hits from the 1990s and 2000s, including “Come See Me,” “Anywhere,” “Tonight” and “Spend It All.” Tickets are available on the Coral Springs Center for the Arts website, ranging from $64 to $147.

Rhythm of a Dream: An MLK Performing Arts Celebration (6 to 8:30 p.m.)

The City of Tamarac will host a free evening of spoken word, poetry, music and live performances honoring the life, legacy and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with food and refreshments available for purchase. Learn more on the City of Tamarac website.

Opening reception at Coral Springs Museum of Art (6 to 9 p.m.)

Saturday

Free crafting meetup in Coconut Creek (2 to 7 p.m.)

Head to Crafted Art Club to meet fellow crafters and work on your current project — or pick up a new one — in a friendly, low-key environment. Free, family-friendly movie screening in Margate (6:30 p.m.)

Sunday storytime at Barnes & Noble (2 p.m.)

Parkland farmers’ market — public safety and business expo (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Joyful Resistance and Oliver Larkin virtual town hall (7 to 8 p.m.)

Oliver Larkin, an independent Democrat running to challenge Rep. Jared Moskowitz for his seat in Congress, will speak live with residents and local organizers about the issues shaping South Florida’s District 23 and how he aims to solve them if elected.

Attendees are encouraged to come with questions for the candidate. Registration is required and can be found on the Indivisible website.
