Festivals, food trucks, live music rule the weekend in and around Coral Springs

City festivals with live music, food trucks and children’s activities are set to fill up the weekend as Coral Springs, Tamarac and Margate display unique takes on what makes each city special, including international dance performances and a Queen cover band.

And that’s only the beginning, as Super Bowl parties and local shopping experiences bring residents and visitors together with hot food and fun on Saturday and Sunday.

Want something a little calmer? A new show is coming to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, and classes for those curious about yoga and guitar have seats available.

Here’s what you won’t want to miss in Coral Springs from Friday, Feb. 6, through Sunday, Feb. 8:

Saturday

Paradise Palms field trip (10:30 a.m.)

Explore the Delray Beach sculpture and botanical garden with members of the Coral Springs Garden Club. Their full route will be 1.5 miles on gravel surfacing, passing through unique gardens, groves and micro-forests with many rare species. Admission is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Coconut Creek Hometown Market (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

The neighboring city’s biweekly market near Veterans Park is set to feature local vendors with food, clothing, accessories, art, plants and other items. Learn more via the city of Coconut Creek website.

One Tamarac Festival (4 to 8 p.m.)

Kevin Lyttle is set to headline Tamarac’s annual free multicultural celebration, which will also feature dance performances from around the globe, a laser show and kids zone. Plus, can’t-miss food trucks will be in attendance. Learn more on the City of Tamarac’s website.

Coral Springs Community Concert (5 to 9:30 p.m.)

Following the mayor’s annual State of the City address, residents are invited to a free, family-friendly concert featuring acclaimed cover band “Absolute Queen,” plus games, crafts and snacks for all ages. Sounds at Sundown (6 p.m.)

Classic Rock Therapy will play a free concert at Margate for spectators at the Margate Sports Complex. Food trucks with snacks, meals and desserts will also be available. Learn more on the City of Margate’s webpage.

Sunday

Tamarac Farmers’ Market (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Super Bowl watch party at Sharkey’s (4 p.m.)

Catch Super Bowl 60 at the local bar and grill, which boasts a 110-inch high definition projection screen and 25 large HDTVs, including two on the smoker- and pet-friendly patio. ‘The Wedding Singer’

See the hit Adam Sandler film translated to the stage at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on Friday and Saturday. Audiences will be immersed in romance and 1980s fun as Robbie, a wedding singer, falls for Julia, a waitress engaged to the wrong guy. Tickets range from $42 to $53, available now on the Center’s ticketing website.
