Plant enthusiasts will see another opportunity step into spring and shop local as the Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital hosts the Orchid and Plant Festival.

Vendors from across the state will be selling tropical species, plus handmade housewares, jewelry and sweet treats from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, and Sunday, March 1.

Visitors will also have an opportunity to meet some of the creatures that hospital staff are currently caring for.

Tickets benefit the local wildlife hospital, which helps educate the public on conservation and preserving native species.

Tickets purchased in advance cost $6, or get a walk-in ticket for $8. Two-day passes are available for $10. Children under 8 years old attend for free.

Parking will be at Sawgrass Springs Middle School, with a shuttle provided to transport attendees to the nature center, with accessible options available if needed.
