Aspiring chess players can participate in this free National Scholastic Chess Foundation-backed tournament at Kiwanis Park Community Center. Two age groups will be available for play: elementary school (ages 5-11) and middle and high school (ages 12-18). Lunch will be provided, but players must register in advance. Project Leadership 52 Literacy Summit (10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
Middle and high school students can head to the Northwest Regional Library to learn money skills, get ACT and SAT preparation, and more to help them study smarter and succeed. Learn more on the library events page.
R&B Unplugged day party (3 to 8 p.m.)
