Coral Springs is getting another new deli-style bagelry in the new year — Long Island Bagel Cafe announced that it will add its newest location in the city in the spring.

The family-owned franchise specializes in hand-rolled New York-style bagels and bagel sandwiches, as well as offering usual coffee shop fare. It first came to Florida in September, with a location in Boca Raton.

“For many years now, LIBC customers have shared stories about unappealing bagel encounters in other states. In an effort to service a larger market, we are now leveraging our tried and true business methods to bring our bagels to a wider audience,” the business’ franchising page reads.

“We are very proud to begin answering the country’s call for a premier, more refined experience via our franchise efforts, and better bagels for all.”

The LIBC franchise in Coral Springs will join several similar bagel spots, including Bagels and a Whole Lot More, Family Bagels of Long Island, Schmear Bagels, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Manhattan Bagel and returning favorite Mitch’s Downtown, among others.

The exponential growth of the niche has a number of possible sources, according to reports. Some vendors, including the founder of Central Florida-based Jeff’s Bagel Run, say they were fueled by a lack of authentic, high-quality bagels in Florida.

South Florida’s changing demographics could be another factor. According to a report by Consumer Affairs and another by the Miami Association of Realtors, tens of thousands of New York residents move to Florida every year. That means more demand for the city’s staple — and a potential opportunity for entrepreneurs.

Long Island Bagel Cafe is scheduled to open in Coral Springs in May 2026, Business Debut reported.
