The tables are still set inside Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar & Tapas in Coral Springs as if customers are about to walk through the door any minute and sit down.

But after more than 11 years at the Sawgrass Center shopping plaza anchored by a Publix near Heron Bay, the Italian restaurant has closed.

“After many wonderful years, we have made the decision to sell Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar & Tapas in Coral Springs,” chef Angelo Elia said in a statement shared with the Coral Springs News Dec. 22 “We are incredibly thankful for the community that embraced us and supported us throughout this journey.

“For the past 11 years, it has been an honor to serve Coral Springs and to share so many memorable moments with our guests. We are deeply grateful to everyone who dined with us, celebrated with us, and made this location such a special part of our story. Thank you for the memories, we will always carry them with us.”

Angelo and Denise Elia opened their first Casa D’Angelo restaurant in Fort Lauderdale in 1998 and expanded their concept with Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar & Tapas locations across various South Florida cities, including Coral Springs, Weston and Delray Beach, among others.

But several of the locations have since closed. Angelo Elia Group sold the Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar & Tapas brand in 2024 while still maintaining ownership of Casa D’Angelo Ristorante and Angelo Elia The Bakery Bar, the South Florida Business Journal reported.
