Massachusetts-based Maha Juice Bar opening Coral Springs location this spring
A new healthy juice bar is coming to Coral Springs’ downtown area.
Maha Juice Bar, a brand founded in Massachusetts by Marcieli Pastorio, is opening its first Florida location in Coral Springs. The store is expected to open in mid to late April.
“Originally from Brazil, Marci has a deep love for Florida and chose Coral Springs because of its vibrant, welcoming community,” a spokesperson for the company told the Coral Springs News. “She was especially drawn to the energy and vision behind the new downtown area — a perfect fit for Maha’s mission of wellness, joy and living life to the fullest.”
Restaurant license records show Maha Juice Bar will be at 3300 University Drive Suite A3, in the Cornerstone development at the southwest corner of Sample Road and University Drive.
The wellness-oriented company serves açaí bowls, smoothies and juices, as well as sandwiches, wraps and toasts. According to its website, Maha Juice Bar draws on Christian principles to nourish the body with natural, unprocessed ingredients and sources its açaí from Brazil.
Pastorio emigrated to the U.S. in 2004, got married and had kids. But when her marriage ended, she ended up taking a job at a Dunkin’ Donuts to make ends meet before her parents bought her a small franchise.
“I had never run a business before, but I learned quickly. I learned to survive,” according to Pastorio’s story on her company’s website. “I learned to be an entrepreneur. When competition started to crowd me out and overhead became too high, I had my AHA moment: I knew I needed something new, something mine. That’s when I took a leap of faith and started Maha Juice Bar.”
She opened in 2018, and the business expanded to three locations in Massachusetts, although the website currently lists only two. A spokesperson said the Coral Springs spot is the third corporate-owned location.
“Our goal is to make wellness easy, delicious and accessible — and we’re excited to bring that experience to Coral Springs,” the spokesperson said.
