Harmony Indian Cuisine opening this week on University Drive in Coral Springs
After a long period of planning, permitting and designing, Harmony Indian Cuisine will open to the public on Thursday, March 19.
“We’ve been waiting for a year to open, and we’re very excited,” said Richard Joseph, one of the four owners.
Harmony Indian Cuisine is located in the Maplewood Plaza at the intersection of University Drive and Ramblewood Drive at 1142 N. University Drive, near the Coral Square Mall.
The soft opening with limited hours from 5 to 9:30 p.m. will run March 19 to March 22. Then on Monday, March 23, the full hours will begin. The restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, although after a couple weeks the owners anticipate opening at 9 a.m. on Sundays to serve Indian breakfast.
Joseph described the cuisine as “completely authentic Indian,” serving up a variety of options from north and south India. In addition to some off-menu weekend specials, regular menu items include different varieties of biryani, which is a flavorful rice and meat dish, as well as Kerala specialties, curries, seafood, vegetarian options, naan and dosa, a type of savory South Indian crepe.
The restaurant will also serve wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
The restaurant plans to deliver for free up to a five-mile radius, Joseph said, which would help the restaurant avoid passing on delivery fees from third-party delivery providers to customers.
Harmony’s website includes the full menu and more information.
