The Royal Eagle shopping plaza on Wiles Road in Coral Springs has new owners.

Buyers paid $60.5 million for the 211,664-square-foot property, using a $40 million mortgage from Wells Fargo Bank, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

The purchase was split between three companies with connections to Boca Raton-based Carlyle Management Corporation. Charles J. Rosner, Gerald Simon and Edward Rutkovsky all play roles in the LLCs.

Existing leases on the property include McDonald’s, The Citizens and Southern National Bank of Florida, Hobby Lobby, Taco Bell and Aldi.

The former owner, mall operator and Simon spinoff Washington Prime Group, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2021, citing financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The group owns 27 shopping centers nationwide, including the Boynton Beach Mall.

According to the deed, Royal Eagle’s new owners must abide by the lease terms currently in place, but could change them once they expire.
