This year’s Business Excellence Award winners have been announced, with both newcomers and community staples recognized by city officials.

The awards are a symbolic gesture to honor Coral Springs businesses that contribute to the economic well-being of the city, demonstrate a commitment to customer service and show a sincere devotion to the community.

The community can nominate businesses, which are voted on by the Economic Development Office. Finalists are honored during a ceremony at one of the regularly scheduled City Commission meetings in May. This year’s winners will be recognized May 6.

Here’s who made the cut:

Large company winner: CTS Engines

CTS Engines is well-known in the aviation world for jet engine maintenance, repair, overhaul and testing services, with a focus on aircraft including the Boeing 767 and 747 fleets. The corporation announced it would be moving to Coral Springs in 2023, bringing state-of-the-art machinery and roughly 166 jobs in the following years.

The award for businesses with 50 or more employees has previously gone to Privacy Glass Solutions in 2025 and Event Services Group (ESG) in 2024.

Small company winner: Artbag

Artbag, the internationally-acclaimed designer and vintage handbag repair house, followed up Plaster Carousel and marketing agency Bright Pink to join the winners’ list this year. Owner Chris Moore moved the operation from New York City to Coral Springs in 2022, and told the Coral Springs News earlier this year that the move cut his commute — and his blood pressure medication needs — in half.

Company to Watch: Jaan Holistic Wellness and Head Spa

Businesses that are new to the city are eligible for this award, placing a spotlight on those that have been in Coral Springs for less than five years.

Jaan Holistic Wellness was founded by pharmacist Anu Koshy after the COVID-19 pandemic, when she noticed her own hair loss, according to the business’ website. Combining Ayurvedic and scientific principles, the wellness studio specializes in hair growth and scalp health, as well as massages and facials.

Sustainability Award: The Bin Doctor

The award highlights companies that encourage eco-friendliness and green living — characteristics built into The Bin Doctor’s process, according to the company’s website. The curbside garbage bin disinfecting service uses high-pressure hot water to purge viruses, bacteria and mold, and is committed to chemical-free, responsible water use.

Legacy Award: Pink Pony Tail Salon

Local businesses that have been part of the city for more than two decades are eligible for this award — and Pink Pony Tail Salon has more than doubled that threshold, with roots in Coral Springs tracing all the way back to 1985. Established by sisters Roya and Simi Saramoot, the beauty parlor offers hair cuts, dyes, styling and treatments for men, women and children, as well as manicures, pedicures and facials.

Heart of the Community: Drake Irish Dance South Florida

Philanthropic contributions are at the core of this award, given this year to Drake Irish Dance, which offers competitive and recreational lessons in the craft for all ages and recently celebrated its 10th birthday in South Florida.

Officials previously recognized Hellenic Republic for its work providing free meals after natural disasters and during the pandemic, as well as Atlantic Academy for its individualized support of students with special needs.

Commissioners Award: Sole Source Shoe Repair & Alterations

Major employers with a demonstrated impact on the community are eligible for this award, according to the city.

Sole Source, which is owned and operated by second-generation leather craftsman Francesco Montalbano and his wife, Annelise Montalbano, specializes in Italian leatherworking techniques. The duo work on more than just shoes, offering custom orthotics, leather apparel repair and alteration services in addition to preserving high-end Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Prada, Ferragamo and Gucci footwear.
