Jennifer Jenkins will speak at this month’s Coral Springs-Parkland Democratic Club meeting, one week after she dropped out of the race to unseat Sen. Ashley Moody and endorsed her competitor in the Democratic primary.

The Coral Springs-Parkland Democratic Club will host its monthly meeting Thursday, Feb. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. with featured speaker Jennifer Jenkins.

Jenkins made headlines nationwide in 2020 after she defeated Moms for Liberty cofounder Tina Descovich for a seat on the Brevard County School Board.

It made the career educator — and her family — a target for right-wing activists, who disagreed with her positions on COVID-19 safety enforcement, history education and the broader MAGA movement.

Though the event posting says that Jenkins will speak about her new campaign to unseat Ashley Moody in the U.S. Senate, the prominent Democrat has dropped out of the race and endorsed Alexander Vindman.

Members of the Democratic Club will also discuss official business and upcoming events in the area.

The meeting’s location, not far from City Hall, is shared with attendees after they RSVP on Mobilize.

Light refreshments will also be available.

Interested residents can learn more about the club on its website, Facebook or Instagram.
