Toys for Tots drive returns to The Walk in Coral Springs. Here’s what to know
The Walk at University in Coral Springs continues its annual tradition this year, partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program to bring holiday cheer to children across the region.
Now through Dec. 11, residents can drop new, unwrapped gifts off in several stores at The Walk:
- Amera
- Berkshire Hathaway
- Crocante Bakery & Cafe
- Jamba
- Whit’s Frozen Custard
- Wildflowers of Parkland
Toys for Tots does not accept realistic-looking toy weapons or food. Recommended items include sporting equipment, books, backpacks, purses, cosmetics, toiletry sets, board games, radio control cars and trucks, skateboards, bicycles and hair tools .
On Dec. 12, The Channel 10 Big Bus Toy Express will stop in Coral Springs as part of its annual tour around South Florida. Kristi Krueger, daily anchor and medical reporter, will serve as the host for the Broward leg of the journey.
According to Local 10, she will be joined by U.S. Marines in full-dress uniforms and surprise guests at the fountain in The Walk from noon to 1 p.m. that day.
Day-of donors will be rewarded with free ice cream from Kilwins in The Walk. Those looking to donate virtually can visit the Toys for Tots website to get started.
