Coral Springs public education officer named Broward Fire Inspector of the Year

The Broward County Fire Inspectors Association has recognized Daniel Chavez, a longtime member of the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, as its Fire Inspector of the Year.

Chavez was also named Fire Inspector of the Year in 2017, according to a post from the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department.

He has been the main contact for residents on events such as free car seat installations, first aid training and youth CPR demonstrations.

He is also an advisor for the Fire Explorer Program, a hands-on experiential learning opportunity for students ages 14 to 20 who are interested in becoming firefighters, EMTs or paramedics.
