Videos show fire at former Heron Bay golf course clubhouse; investigation ongoing

The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department is investigating the cause of a Dec. 27 fire at the former Heron Bay golf course clubhouse.

The department recently released footage taken from one of Platform 80’s fire engines with the caption, “POV when you hit that turn and see a fully engulfed structure.”

The video accrued over 50,000 views on Instagram within five days.

Additional videos shared with the Coral Springs News taken by Maxwell Weston, one of the first 911 callers, show the scope of the blaze that caused the roof of the building to collapse.

His video shows police and fire rescue responding to the blaze, which broke out at around 4 a.m.

The clubhouse, which has been vacant for years, is slated to become a Life Time luxury gym.

Crews extinguished the fire after about an hour, and the scene remained active for several hours.
