Coral Springs Publix employee arrested on child pornography charges, cops say
A 29-year-old Coral Springs man has been arrested on 11 counts of possession and solicitation of child porn after a lengthy investigation by the Coral Springs Police Department, records show.
The inquiry into Yvan Michel Jaquez began on Nov. 28, when Coral Springs Detective Sandy Gomez said she recieved a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s (NCMEC) online tipline.
It was submitted by the X Corporation — which owns X, formerly known as Twitter, as well as the AI chatbot Grok — involving an account named ‘Wumbo_Jumbo95.”
After executing a digital search warrant, Gomez said she found over 50 pieces of child sexual abuse material that were sent and received via direct message on the account, including 35 images “depicting nude or partially nude children and/or children in inappropriate attire, including content characterized as AI-genetrated depictions and animated/anime pictures of the same.”
The X account in question was linked to Jaquez via phone number, birth date and IP address records, cops said. Police confirmed his residence in Coral Springs during a stakeout.
Records show cops executed arrest and search warrants on Feb. 5. Officers reported they examined his phone and found child pornography files there.
In the arrest affidavit, however, Gomez wrote that Jaquez said he kept the vast majority of images on his personal computer. The device in question was not immediately searched, records say, in order to allow forensic specialists to properly examine the device.
Jaquez, who worked at a Publix supermarket, according to his arrest report, has since been released on bail, according to Broward County court records, and is required to wear a court-ordered monitoring device ahead of his trial.
Jaquez’s arrest comes shortly after controversy surrounding Grok and xAI generating millions of X-rated images, including nonconsensual undressed and suggestively posed celebrities and children. Elon Musk and his companies are currently being investigated by the European Union, India and California as a result.
