A Coral Springs woman is now facing a murder charge after she was accused of selling a fatal dose of MDMA to an Ultra music festival attendee in Miami last year.

Charlene Brittany Forti, 27, was arrested March 17 in connection with the death of 24-year-old Jenniha Le, a Georgia woman who overdosed on a party drug sold by Forti, Miami-Dade court records show.

Three other people involved in facilitating the drug sale were also arrested, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office announced. Two have already resolved their cases.

Le was planning to attend the Ultra music festival in Miami in March 2025 with Hannah Le-Nguyen, who reached out a week in advance to a friend, Carmen Lo, about buying Molly and Adderall, according to an arrest warrant from the City of Miami Police Department.

Lo connected Le-Nguyen with Forti, who offered a single pill of Molly, or ecstasy, for $35, and some expired Adderall for free, text records show.

When Le and Le-Nguyen arrived in Miami for the festival, Forti passed along the drugs to another mutual friend, An Tan Ly, who’s then accused of delivering them to Le-Nguyen, a detective said.

The next day at the Bayfront Park festival, on March 31, 2025, Le took part of the pill and was said to be “feeling lovey and appeared to be enjoying the music,” police wrote in the warrant.

She took the rest of the pill, but then started to feel hot and couldn’t control her body, Le-Nguyen told investigators. Le was taken to the medical tent, then she became incoherent, going in and out of consciousness with a high heart rate, investigators said.

Fire rescue took her to Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Le-Nguyen began texting Forti asking if the pill was definitely MDMA, police said.

Forti confirmed she tested the pill, and it was, according to court documents. She said she would ask the person she got it from for more information, police said.

The next morning, Le was pronounced dead. The medical examiner determined she died of acute methylenedioxy methamphetamine toxicity, or acute MDMA toxicity.

Here’s the list of the individuals who were arrested:

  • Charlene Forti, 27: murder, conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful use of a two-way communication device
  • Carmen Lo, 25: conspiracy to commit first-degree murder
  • Hannah Le-Nguyen, 25: possession of a controlled substance
  • An Tan Ly, 26: possession of a controlled substance

Miami-Dade court records show the cases for Le-Nguyen and Ly have both been closed. Adjudication was withheld, meaning they weren’t convicted, and a judge ordered probation for both of them.

“From the outset my client, Mr. Ly, took responsibility and played a constructive role in helping to ensure the truth came to light, and this resolution reflects both his actions and the state’s recognition of his limited role,” Ly’s attorney, Michael Mirer, told the Coral Springs News. “And he now has the opportunity to move forward and put this horrible tragedy behind him.”

Forti remains in jail in Miami-Dade on no bond, and Lo was arrested in the Atlanta area on March 17, records show. She awaits extradition to Miami to face prosecution.
