A 27-year-old man giving a ride to two teen girls didn’t take them straight home, but instead pulled over and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old in Coral Springs, police said.

Kevin Bien Aime, of Fort Lauderdale, is charged with sexual battery on a victim over 12 but under 18, and he was arrested during a traffic stop April 2.

The two teens ended up in Bien Aime’s car when they were trying to get a ride home from Pompano Beach from a friend one of them knew, Coral Springs police wrote in the arrest affidavit.

The 17-year-old girl told police that the afternoon of March 23, her friend, also a minor, picked up alcohol at a gas station and came over to drink and smoke marijuana, investigators said. The 17-year-old said it was only her second time drinking, and it made her memory slightly hazy.

The two girls asked a 28-year-old friend to buy more alcohol for them, as two more friends came over, police said. Later that night, at around 9 p.m., the 28-year-old picked up the group and drove them to Pompano Beach, according to the affidavit.

But they were intoxicated and loud, so he asked them to get out of his car in a parking lot at the beach, and he left, police said.

After a couple hours, one of the girls reached out to a friend to pick them up, but he reportedly couldn’t find them, so she shared her location with another person, later identified as Bien Aime, according to investigators.

They were still expecting their friend to pick them up in his car, but he showed up instead sitting in the back seat of Bien Aime’s car, along with a third unknown man, police said. Bien Aime was driving a red Land Rover SUV, witnesses said.

Bien Aime asked about the two male friends with the two teen girls, but he refused to let the male friends in his car, only offering rides to the two girls, police said. Neither the victim nor her friend knew Bien Aime or the third man in the car, they said.

The girls left their two male friends and got in the car with the three men, and Bien Aime started driving away, police said. After some time, Bien Aime pulled over near the 8600 block of West Sample Road and asked the 17-year-old to move from the back seat to the front seat, according to the affidavit.

She did, but she told police Bien Aime started touching her leg, so she pushed him away and climbed into the back seat again to be with her friend.

Bien Aime followed her into the back seat and tried pulling down the girl’s sweatpants, she said. She and her friend told him no, then she said she climbed back into the front seat.

Bien Aime started asking the other two men about a condom in Creole, and asked the 17-year-old if she wanted “this,” the victim told police. She said she responded no.

Bien Aime then pulled the girl halfway out of the car, pulled down her pants and raped her, police said.

The victim estimated it lasted about 10 minutes, and she could hear her friend yelling at Bien Aime to stop, according to the affidavit. She said while this was happening, she saw the third unknown man in the back seat trying to assault her friend.

The friend told police she saw the 17-year-old victim being assaulted in the front seat.

The two girls got out of the car and walked away as the men briefly followed them, but they eventually left, the girls told police.

The victim reached out to her sister for help at around 2:26 a.m., and her family booked her an Uber ride home from the nearby First Church Coral Springs on Wiles Road, according to police.

The next day, March 25, the girls reported the incident to police, and investigators performed a sexual assault examination on the victim.

License plate readers helped investigators confirm the driver was Bien Aime, and Coral Springs police pulled him over during a traffic stop April 2, according to the affidavit.

After he was arrested, he confirmed to officers he had picked up the two girls and engaged in sex acts with one of them, saying her pants were still in his trunk, according to police.

He said the girl lied about her age, and even if that were true, it “does not constitute a defense under Florida law,” police wrote in the affidavit.

Investigators took a DNA sample from him as well, and he remains in Broward’s main jail on no bond as of April 8, records show.
