No. 1 in Florida: Coral Springs park ranks first in state for quiet, calm moments
Coral Springs’ Cypress Park ranks as a favorite place to decompress for Floridians, according to a new survey.
“Sometimes, the healthiest thing a person can do is step away for half an hour and sit somewhere that asks nothing of them,” A Mission for Michael, a residential mental health care company, said in its findings.
“That quieter side of mental wellbeing is rarely the subject of surveys, but it is clearly something many people crave.”
A Mission for Michael conducted the 3,000-person survey in March. Participants identified their favorite places in their city for a quiet moment of calm, including general spaces such as libraries, parks and public plazas, as well as specific spots.
Cypress Park ranked No. 1 in Florida and No. 5 nationally, according to AMFM.
The 46-acre park includes baseball, softball and soccer fields, as well as basketball, pickleball and tennis courts, a playground, outdoor fitness equipment and walking trails. It also includes Cypress Water Park, a popular summer destination for all ages.
A seat, a pause, and suddenly the day feels less rushed. Cypress Park tends to attract people who are simply looking for a little breathing room. Time spent here quietly can feel surprisingly refreshing,” AMFM says in its description of the park.
Four of the top 10 parks were in Florida, including Memorial Park in Pembroke Pines, which ranked No. 9 nationally.
Foster Botanical Garden in Honolulu took the top spot in the survey.
