The U.S. Marshals Service and Fort Lauderdale police arrested a Coral Springs 18-year-old Wednesday after he was accused of sending sexual messages and encouraging self-harm to a 13-year-old.

Monique Senior, a transgender man, now faces felony charges of soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer device and transmission of material harmful to minors via electronic device.

The case began when a Wilton Manors mom noticed that her teenage son had been “acting different, displaying odd behavior and obsessing over his phone and friendship with a person nicknamed ‘Hatch,’” according to investigators.

The victim had met Hatch face-to-face through his 16-year-old sister in late 2025, the arrest affidavit states, after which they mainly communicated via text and social media apps Discord and TikTok.

After reviewing the messages, detectives wrote that Hatch, later identified as Senior, and the victim had exchanged nude photos and explicit messages. Police said in messages, Senior also encouraged the victim to harm himself.

While speaking with investigators, the child visually identified Senior via driver’s license photo.

Senior is being held on $100,000 bond, records state, and remained in custody at the North Broward Bureau jail as of Monday, May 18.
