The victim of the May 14 early-morning shooting in Coral Springs has been identified as 18-year-old Khameran Jackson of Dania Beach, according to police.

“As of this release, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide investigation,” Coral Springs Police Department Public Information Officer James Kaban told the Coral Springs News in an email Monday, May 18.

“At this time, we are unable to provide additional details, as releasing further information could compromise the integrity of the ongoing investigation. We appreciate your understanding and will share updates as appropriate.”

However, an arrest report acquired by the Coral Springs News shows that T’vano Rolle, 22, was arrested the evening after the shooting and faces evidence tampering charges.

Residents reported hearing multiple gunshots around 3 a.m. on May 14, followed by a large police presence along Royal Palm Boulevard and Riverside Drive, near the Coral Springs Tower Club.

The shooting follows the April 1 murder of Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer and the April 16 attempted murder of another woman, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend.

It’s a sharp increase from last year, when Coral Springs Police reported zero homicides and one “undetermined” high-profile death, reflecting an ongoing local and national decrease in violent crime.
