Coral Springs to honor veterans at Memorial Day ceremony. Here are details
Coral Springs residents and visitors will have an opportunity on Memorial Day to honor military servicemembers who died during their service to the country.
The ceremony at Veterans Park, cohosted by the City of Coral Springs and the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs, will include remarks from elected officials as well as longtime military traditions led by local organizations:
- Wreath placement by the Coral Springs Civil Air Patrol
- Honors by the Coral Springs Police Honor Guard
- A rendition of “Taps,” played by Coral Springs Charter School student Isabella Bautista
The event’s featured speaker is Joe Scott, Broward County’s Supervisor of Elections.
Before he entered government, Scott earned a Combat Action Badge and Bronze Star as a U.S. Army captain in Iraq.
Activities are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 25, at Veterans Park, 8601 Royal Palm Blvd.
If inclement weather is expected, the event will move to the Coral Springs Gymnasium.
