Wondering what Coral Springs’ massive Sportsplex development is going to look like?

On June 5, the city’s selection committee chose PBK Architects to lead architecture and engineering plans for the multi-building, $100 million upgrade, praising its imaginative, high-energy ideas.

Now, residents can get an exclusive look at the designs PBK’s team pitched — and share their thoughts on how they want to see the project proceed.

What could the outside look like?

What’s inside?

Two options were presented for the main entryway to the Sportsplex, with structures generally remaining the same, but different colors and textures available.

Gymnasiums

One goal that city officials have for the complex is hosting more large-scale athletic events, including basketball and volleyball tournaments. To do that, it needs multiple court facilities.

Here’s how PBK Architects imagined two sets of courts — and how they could double as event spaces.

Other amenities

City officials also asked proposers to show how they plan to use non-gymnasium space to enhance visitors’ experiences.

A proposed workout center includes weight machines and cardio training, lit from the side using a wall of windows. The lower portion appears to have the ability to open onto an outdoor space with roll-up window panels.

What’s next?

City Commissioners are scheduled to vote on an agreement with the architects at the governing body’s meeting on Wednesday, June 17.

Those interested in sharing their thoughts on the designs can sign up to testify on the city’s website, coralsprings.gov/publiccomment.
