A shopping and entertainment plaza next to the Coral Square Mall has a new owner, property records show.

The Plaza at Coral Springs, located on Riverside Drive, is now owned by a company tied to Coral Gables-based private investment firm Maven Real Estate.

Paragon Theaters, known for offerings such as sensory-friendly screenings and $5 ticket Tuesdays, anchors the complex. Tulum Prime Tequila Lounge and AMO Pizzeria are main dining destinations there.

Other tenants include a Muay Thai boxing gym, nail salon, Montessori preschool, dentist, barber and florist.

Toronto-based 35 Oak Holdings sold the property for $18.3 million on Monday, July 6. According to Broward County Property Appraisers records, it’s a $5 million increase from its 2005 sale — but not nearly enough to keep pace with inflation, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis’ online calculator.

Maven, owned by Marc Schwarzberg, has been on a spree in Coral Springs, after it picked up Atlantic Crossings for more than triple its appraised value in December.

The purchase continues a larger trend in the city’s real estate market, with many investment firms placing bets on shopping centers.
