As another week of summer rolls into town, we’re taking a look at things to do in Coral Springs to stay out of the heat — and stay entertained.

Library events featuring local and international history and culture through the ages are plentiful as locals have the chance to explore national parks and stories with experts online and in person.

Plus, catch live music, karaoke, card games and hands-on activities to delight those of all ages.

Here’s what’s happening from Monday, July 13, through Thursday, July 16, in and around Coral Springs:

Monday

Palm Beach Opera at Northwest Regional Library (10:30 to 11:30 a.m.)

Kids from preschool to fifth grade are invited to join world-class opera singers for live stories, singing and acting out favorite stories central to the art form. Learn more and register to attend on the library events page.

Tuesday

Unearth a story: Mesa Verde National Park (10:30 to 11:30 a.m.)

During this online session, learners of all ages will delve into the unique history of the park and the preservation of over 600 cliff dwellings and nearly 5,000 archaeological sites belonging to the Ancestral Pueblo people. Register to attend on the Northwest Regional Library events page.

Marvel and DC movies roundup (2:30 to 3:30 p.m.)

Get caught up on all the upcoming Marvel and DC movies and TV shows such as “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” with librarians, who will cover the past and present and speculate on what the future holds for the beloved characters. Make your own dinosaur egg bath bombs (4 to 5 p.m.)

Tweens and teens are invited to create unique bath fizzers with a special surprise inside during this workshop. All supplies will be provided, but registration is required to ensure that enough materials are available. Sign up via the Northwest Regional Library.

Live essay review workshop (4:30 to 5:30 p.m.)

Grief support group (5:30 to 7 p.m.)

Share, listen and heal alongside others who understand loss with this new offering from Eagles’ Haven. Learn more on the nonprofit’s website.

Red Meat Lovers’ Club: Christmas in July (6:30 to 9:30 p.m.)

Carnivores from across the tri-county area have booked Hellenic to throw a festive bash featuring a Mediterranean-inspired menu, outdoor cigar lounge, and live, silent and raffle auctions. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the group’s holiday toy drive to get a free raffle ticket. Learn more and purchase tickets starting at $130 with Eventbrite.

From Green Beans to Big Dreams: Coral Springs history (11 a.m. to noon)
