Yet another new restaurant has been announced for the Cornerstone development in downtown Coral Springs, filling another slot in the controversial project’s commercial space.

Big Whiskey’s, founded in Springfield, Missouri, by Paul Sundy, has expanded across the Midwest and South since 2006.

According to the brand’s website, Sundy was inspired by the bar his father owned — and the patrons who would frequent the establishment.

The restaurant boasts an extensive American food and drink menu featuring over 120 whiskeys.

The business has grown from its location in Missouri, with multiple franchises across Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky and Missouri.

Its first location in Florida opened at Sawgrass Mills Mall in Davie in January 2025 and has received highly positive reviews online.

The Coral Springs location will be the second of three planned Big Whiskey’s in South Florida, spearheaded by Steven Swanson’s Nosnaws Corporation. The Coral Springs-based franchise operator manages many of the region’s IHOP locations, as well as the Walt’s American Grille & Bar in Plantation.

An opening date has not been announced. The Coral Springs News reached out to Big Whiskey’s officials and Swanson for comment on Wednesday, Jan. 14, but didn’t receive an immediate response.

Among the other restaurants planned for the Cornerstone development are Mitch’s Downtown Bagel Cafe and How You Dough’n.
