A recently opened all-you-can-eat Argentinian steakhouse in the Coral Square Mall may have a competitor soon.

A sign on the former Smith & Webster Restaurant site in the Turtle Crossing shopping center announced “Coming Soon: Argentinian Steakhouse.” The news comes a couple months after The Knife steakhouse opened in Coral Springs.

The space’s former tenant, which served Southern-style brunch and dinner, shuttered its Coral Springs and Miami locations in October, leaving the property sitting empty for months.

But, as luxury dining takes up more space in the restaurant market, it appears that entrepreneurs are willing to take another chance on the property.

The announcement comes just weeks after South Florida-based RK Centers purchased the property, along with the rest of the shopping center surrounding Super Target.

While the new tenant’s name has not been announced as of May 12, RK Centers’ sit-down restaurants in Coral Springs include Panera Bread, Chipotle and Jersey Mike’s.

Two of its New England properties have steakhouses — one Outback Steakhouse and one Longhorn Steakhouse, though neither are Argentinian-style establishments.
