Two Coral Springs restaurants earned perfect scores on their inspections, meaning Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation officials didn’t find issues with cleanliness, food safety or worker education.
Here’s a recap of eateries that aced their inspections or follow-up visits from April 22 to May 18:
Flavor House Grill 2 (9817 W. Sample Road)
This Caribbean-American food truck has served Broward County since 2023, offering jerk chicken, seafood, barbecue ribs and more. It is closed on Sundays, but open 4 to 9 p.m. on all other days, with special appearances at festivals and other local events. Learn more on Instagram or Yelp.
Italo Peruvian Restaurant (7891 W. Sample Road)
While it’s categorized as a seating establishment, the fast Peruvian eatery actually is a food truck that travels between Coral Springs and Boca Raton. It’s open from 5 p.m. to midnight, according to its Instagram page, and is closed on Mondays. The food truck serves a variety of classics with a focus on salchipapa dishes.
Honorable mention
Following a regular inspection in late February that resulted in three intermediate and three basic violations, The NY Pizza Place was required to fix repeat issues with its bathrooms, food storage and employee training. When officials returned on April 29, they gave the pizzeria a perfect score.
Wings Plus on University Drive was in a similar situation following its Febuary inspection, which resulted in seven violations, including improper temperatures for food storage, expired food safety training for workers and general cleanliness. The location, which has become a meeting place for political and civic groups in Coral Springs, was redeemed on April 28 when inspectors logged zero violations during their follow-up visit.
