La Fontana Pizzeria to close after 18 years in Coral Springs, owners announce
Another longtime Coral Springs restaurant is saying farewell as new eateries move in.
The owners of La Fontana Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant at The Walk on University Drive announced on Wednesday, May 27, that they will permanently close their doors next month after 18 years in business.
Owners Spartaco and Tony Tare thanked guests, staff and their landlords for being part of La Fontana’s story, helping them weather a recession, pandemic and the unexpected loss of their family patriarch.
“As we prepare for our return to Europe, we carry with us beautiful memories, gratitude, and appreciation for this community that welcomed and supported us for nearly two decades,” the two wrote in their Facebook post about the closure.
The Tares are from Ferrara, Italy, according to a review by the Miami New Times, which praised the eatery’s authentic northern Italian flavors, low prices and courtyard ambience.
Fan-favorite dishes such as thin-crust pizza, fresh focaccia, ravioli and tiramisu aren’t going away just yet, though.
Diners have until Father’s Day, June 21, to enjoy a dish from La Fontana before it closes its doors for the final time.
