A new pizzeria is coming to a Coral Springs up-and-coming shopping center, joining Generoso’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe and Espresso Bar in bringing generational recipes into modern restaurant concepts in the city’s northwest corner.

Pummarola Pizzeria, a South Florida chain inspired by the culinary creations of the Rumo family’s Nonna Rosa, confirmed the opening at 6240 Coral Ridge Drive with a post on its website, as well as a sign at its new storefront.

Though closer to northern neighborhoods and Parkland, Pummarola will have to compete with other new pizza shops in the city, including How Ya Dough’n in the Cornerstone complex.

Pummarola’s website says that the business differentiates itself through its roots in Naples, Italy, with time-honored family recipes and imported ingredients keeping flavors consistent across generations.

“Our pizzas are baked in roaring wood-fired ovens, handcrafted in Italy, to deliver that unmistakable, fire-kissed flavor,” its website says.

“Whether you’re visiting us in the United States or Spain, for dine-in, takeaway, delivery, a pizza-making class, or catering, our mission remains the same: to bring everyone together at the table, just like Nonna Rosa did, and to share a slice of Naples, one plate at a time.”

The pizzeria’s owners have not announced an opening date as of May 19.
