Police are asking for information surrounding the disappearance of 32-year-old Thomas Patrick O’Brien, who’s now been missing from Coral Springs for 10 days.

O’Brien left his home in the 3000 block of 94th Avenue, just behind The Walk, around 2 p.m. on Jan. 11, according to the Coral Springs Police Department.

He was going for his normal run, but police said he never came home. Investigators believe he didn’t have his phone, wallet or keys on him.

His uncle, Jay Raymond, told the Coral Springs News that his nephew is straight-laced, nicknamed French Fry, and wouldn’t have gotten mixed up in anything related to drugs or gambling, leaving the family searching for answers about what may have happened to him.

“It’s bizarre,” Raymond said Jan. 21. “It’s little Thomas, it’s French Fry. He’s loved, he’s a good soul.”

He said his nephew can run long distances easily, and they thought he would come back when he left home that day.

“It’s a red flag,” he said.

O’Brien’s brother wrote on Facebook that O’Brien frequently runs from Coral Springs to north Tamarac, Margate and Coconut Creek. He said police and their family have looked for him everywhere he’s known to go, without finding anything.

O’Brien was last seen wearing white and blue sneakers, a white hat with “Lowes” on it, a gray sweatshirt with a green design on the front, and gray shorts with gray sweatpants underneath, police said.

He’s 5 feet, 5 inches, 105 pounds, with a shaved head and no facial hair, according to investigators. He has no obvious scars or tattoos.

If anyone has seen O’Brien or has information on his whereabouts, they’re encouraged to call Coral Springs police at 954-344-1800 or Detective Jeremy Racine at 954-346-1757.
