Concerned about public safety in your city? If you live in Coral Springs, there’s good news to be had.

Coral Springs is the sixth-safest city in Florida, according to data analysis from SafeWise, a home security research and review site.

The SafeWise report also noted that Coral Springs was one of the largest cities to make it on the list — not only in Florida, but in the United States. This is a significant gain for the city, which placed ninth in 2025.

“Property crime concerns and first-hand experiences are decreasing across Florida. Florida also shows a higher-than-average percentage of residents who use crime-deterring measures like security cameras and security systems,” content writer Cathy Habas wrote in SafeWise’s post.

However, cyber-crime is on the rise, with Florida ranking fourth-highest risk in the nation. The state also ranked first for hurricane-related fears and second for natural disaster-related evacuations.

How does the analysis work?

Safewise collects and analyzes the data each year. Its process also includes speaking to people across the country about their feelings surrounding public safety.

Thirty-five Florida cities met the criteria for ranking. Each one was then compared using year-over-year statistics, which local law enforcement agencies report to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Rankings are based on violent (aggravated assault, murder, rape and robbery) and property (burglary, larceny-theft and motor vehicle theft) crime statistics in each city. This does not include arson, according to SafeWise’s methodology page.

Hialeah Gardens (No. 4), Sunny Isles Beach (No. 7), Miami Lakes (No. 8) and Cutler Bay (No. 10) also landed in the top 10 of SafeWise’s Florida rankings.
