Coral Springs is gearing up for a sunny weekend with family-friendly events celebrating the beginning of spring and welcoming the season with Easter egg hunts and a community yard sale.

Live music also continues to thrive, with classic rock covers, original country singers and more. Plus, access resources at two wellness fairs and give back during a blood drive.

Here’s what to do in and around the city from Friday, March 27, through Sunday, March 29:

Friday

Easter egg hunt (7 to 9 p.m.)

Christian Life Center in Coral Springs will host its annual festivities with free food, games, bounce houses and, of course, an Easter egg hunt and sweet treats. Learn more on Facebook.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical

The musical based on Jeff Kinney’s bestselling series for middle schoolers closes out its run in Coral Springs this weekend with two shows: one at 11:30 a.m. and another at 7 p.m. Learn more and purchase tickets on the Coral Springs Center for the Arts website.

Ramblewood Middle School community yard sale (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Want to get rid of unused items, but don’t have the time or energy to host your own yard sale? Looking for an affordable way to find something new? Head to the Ramblewood Middle School parking lot, which is set to be transformed into an open-air market for students, families and community members. Spaces cost $25. Concessions will also be available for purchase. Learn more on the Ramblewood Middle School Parent Teacher Organization website.

No Kings Day protest (9 a.m. to noon)

Joyful Resistance Coral Springs is set to join groups across the United States for the third iteration of nonviolent protests for No Kings Day, happening at University Drive and Sample Road. Organizers say that the event will feature music, signs and cowbells, as well as a postcard-writing campaign to push against the SAVE Act and immigration authority agreements in South Florida. Hoppin’ Into Springs Egg Hunt (9 a.m. to noon)

Children ages 3 to 8 are invited to race to collect candy-filled eggs at Sportsplex Park and enjoy free party favors, crafts, a bounce house, Italian Ice and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Registration is required. Learn more on the city events page.

Eagle Scout community wellness fair and blood drive (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Donate blood, access free health screenings and wellness resources, watch live cooking demonstrations, participate in safety demonstrations and much more at a local Boy Scout’s capstone project. The event will take place at Athletica Health and Fitness, with assistance from OneBlood. Learn more on Facebook.

Pop-up card pop-up (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Tina Wright and Peter Brown introduce participants to “paper engineering” basics and invite participants to create a simple pop-up card. All materials and equipment are provided. Learn more and register on the library events page.

Learn about the Electra Homes with Coral Springs Museum of History (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

In the late 1960s, Coral Springs became an innovation destination as the host of Westinghouse’s Electra Homes, which showcased cutting-edge appliances and energy-efficient features. Learn more about how they impacted the city’s history with the afternoon’s free, official tour and live discussion.

Free health and wellness fair (1:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
