Earth Day weekend is set to be a busy one in Coral Springs as venues across the city host events from goat yoga to educational, arts and athletic opportunities.

Looking to slow down? Check out Saturday’s Q&A with artists at the Coral Springs Museum of Art. For the high-energy crowd, there’s plenty of live music to go around. Plus, catch family-friendly activities at the Sawgrass Nature Center, Northwest Regional Library and more.

How Ya Dough’n Coral Springs grand opening

The long-awaited sourdough pizza sensation is finally opening to the public this Friday with 100 free pizzas to give away every day of opening weekend.

  • Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Coral Springs Earthfest (9 a.m. to noon)

Head to the Sawgrass Center for the city’s annual Earth Day celebration featuring free goat yoga, plant giveaways for residents, plus activities and vendors to enjoy. The Coral Springs Museum of History will also have a booth featuring stories about Coral Springs’ agricultural roots. Pick up a free green bean growing kit and shop unique upcycled bags made from past city event banners.

Lift Every Voice (noon to 5 p.m.)

Aspiring authors and speakers are invited to the Northwest Regional Library’s storytelling event, featuring Kaishia Slaughter, a self-publishing coach and founder of TRU Statement Publications. Learn more on the library events page.

‘Marmoris 2’ artist talk (2 to 3 p.m.)

Head to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts for a panel featuring artists Susana Behar, Elaine Defibaugh, Giannina Dwin, Tony Fernandez and Gustavo Matamoros, whose work is part of the Deering Estate’s “Marmoris 2” exhibit. Visitors will get to learn more about their creative processes, inspirations and the themes that shape their work — all free of charge.

Sensory walk (9 to 11 a.m.)

Parks and Recreation staff are set to host a walk through Cypress Hammock Park with a range of sensory stations encouraging relaxation, focus and connection suited for all ages and abilities. Plus, visitors will go home with a free bag of goodies.

Cacao and Sound (3 to 5 p.m.)

For $60, YOUniversal Yoga event attendees can pursue deeper grounding with ceremonial cacao, aromatherapy, breathwork and a sound bath, led by practitioner Amy Shine. Learn more on Facebook.
